Anton Esterhuyse has established himself as a very versatile musician and is equally at home behind the church organ and as the pianist in a rock band. He also plays flute and panpipes and performs regularly as soloist and with various ensembles.

His expertise in creating the right mood for any occasion has held him in high demand for various functions (from private parties and weddings to high-profile events) and has also led to him being commissioned by the University of the Free State and Motheo TVET College to write new music for their respective graduation ceremonies.

As a performer, producer, music director, composer and arranger he has been involved in more than seventy stage and CD productions, writing the music for six theatre plays, as well as two musicals. He has also accompanied famous Afrikaans artists such as Laurika Rauch, Jannie Moolman, Corlea Botha and Mathys Roets.

Anton Esterhuyse currently holds a post as music director at the Universitas Centre of Faith and was the accompanist/arranger for the world-renowned Bloemfontein Children’s Choir from 2014 to 2018. His choral compositions and arrangements have been performed by choirs all around the country.

In 2016 he received the  Executive Management Award for an extraordinary achiever from the University of the Free State and in 2019 he was honoured by the Bloemfonteinse Afrikanerkultuurraad for his contribution to the advancement of the  Afrikaans language and culture as musician, music arranger and musical director.
